eDevelop is a Web based content management and publication system, developed by Human Solutions to help distribute the production of content for Web sites to multiple authors within an organisation.
It is designed to scale from relatively small Web sites to large government agencies.
eDevelop can:

Content is managed by authors throughout an organisation, with an approvals hierarchy ensuring that at least one manager must approve content before release. Where appropriate, multiple approvers can review different aspects of the content - layout, technical language, style and voice. Groups can perform approval roles - sharing the workload and allowing managers to assume the role of other staff.
Layouts allow content to be completely separated from the presentation - protecting the site design, and allowing users to manage the Web site without extensive training in HTML. Layouts can be managed by a different group of users, and follow an approval hierarchy to ensure updates are checked and tested before release.
Multiple Web sites, including password-protected sub-sites, can be managed through a single interface. Content can also be shared, where required, minimising duplication and reducing the time required for maintenance. For example, both the WorkCover Tasmania and Workplace Standards Tasmania Web sites are managed through the same instance of eDevelop.
eDevelop also features a subscription facility, allowing published Web sites to provide a way for users to register their areas of interest and receive an email when updates and additions are made. This helps our clients ensure that their customers are aware of changes to content delivered through the Web that affect them directly.
eDevelop fully supports Dublin Core and AGLS metadata standards, as well as providing fixed and customisable vocabularies to describe content.
Microsoft SQL Server stores content maintained in eDevelop, and sites are regularly published as HTML files (with Active Server Pages to provide dynamic features, like site searches and email subscription). eDevelop can be hosted by Human Solutions, or installed on existing client infrastructure if required.
