PrivateHealth.gov.au is an Australian Government initiative, managed by the office of the Private Health Insurance Ombudsman (PHIO).

The website provides information to the public about health funds and lifetime health cover as well as a vast array of information about private health insurance.

Standard Information Statements for all health insurance products offered by registered health funds are also available from the site. These are created and maintained by the health funds. Funds have an obligation to provide copies of these statements (SIS) to existing and prospective customers.

Human Solutions developed both the public website and a tailored Content Management System (CMS) for private health funds to maintain their Standard Information Statements, as well as a separate CMS to maintain the public site content. The development of the site required Human Solutions to perform the following tasks:

• Consult with stakeholders to gain their support for the project and confirm the scope of the site;
• Design and develop the information architecture, data schemas, site structure, accessibility, standards compliance, navigation model and layout of the Website;
• Develop tools for the collation of site content, support for data entry by PHIO and private health funds, generation of Web pages, queries and calculators, installation and configuration of the site, testing and handover to the Ombudsman; and
• Maintain the site infrastructure, updating and possible extension of site content; ongoing technical support for private health funds and PHIO staff; liaison with stakeholders and reporting to the Ombudsman.
